February Flew By

Man oh man, this month flew by!  Okay a quick run down.... Bronco's lost the Super Bowl, bad!... Jake is now at station 7... Valentines day was eventful with homemade valentines for Ella and Cora's first dance... had a fun night with two amazing friends... started working out 5 days a week again... the girls are starting swim again... Ella has a piece of art going to the 52nd Annual Pikes Peak Regional Young Art Exhibitions... she has pulled two of her teeth... she had her first play, cutest little yellow bird ever... aaaannnddd WE ARE GETTING A BUNNY!!!!!  See busy!
Jake is loving his job at CSFD and is almost done with his probation time.  He has had several fires and is very well respected among the senior firefighters.  I couldn't be more proud of him!  I love him so much.  He was a sweet Valentine this year getting me some delicious chocolate covered strawberries and a beautiful miniature rose plant.
Ella and I made her valentines this year the theme was "Valentine you make me Jolly!"

We added a Jolly Rancher Lollipop, Super cute!

This is her beautiful valentine holder!  She worked hard on it.
I did both the girls hair that morning. Braided hearts of course.

That night Cora went to her first school dance.  She went with 4 of her girl friends.  Afterwards, they all went to one of the girl's houses for a sleepover.  She looked beautiful, so mature.  She was a brave girl and asked a boy to dance with them because he was all alone and looked sad.  She is a sweet girl!  While Cora was at the dance her bff Kayla came over and "heart attacked" her room!  She decorated with streamers, balloons, notes, hearts, candy and a banner!  Before I took Cora to the sleepover I brought her home to see it.  That night the girls that went to the dance stayed up until 2am!!! She was exhausted the next day.  Hahaha! I love that she  is getting older and becoming more mature but then again I HATE IT!!!

This is my favorite!

Hung out with Ronda and Sarah the Saturday after Valentines day. I love these ladies!

Working out again and its been good.  My goal is not in pounds lost.  I really want to be in a single digit pant size and be more tone.  I don't want to be winded after running after the girls or "racing" them.  I want my sexy back!  I know setting weight goals can be so depressing and upsetting so I think its healthier and more fun to set realistic, tangible goals. Being sexy is tangible! :-)
We quit Life Time Fitness and I joined Planet Fitness.
The girls are great swimmers now so we are going to Donna's Dolphins for a 1hr. stroke clinic each week.  Cora loves to swim and has a beautiful back stroke! Ella loves swimming too.  It is also so good for her little flexi body.  She still has to wear earplugs but I'm not sure she'll ever stop.  The pools and room air are great for Ella's temperature issues.  I love that the whole family is enjoying being healthy!

As for Ella's art piece I sure wish I had a picture of it, but I don't even know what it is.  She gets an award on March 18 at 5pm so I will post a pic after that.
Now this whole business about her pulling her own teeth... well her teeth take forever to grow back in so I was going to wait with these two, till they were super ready hoping the new tooth would be there, but noooo... she showed me and pulled them herself. Hahaha! Oh well, she is so adorable and super excited about it!  I love that little toothless wonder.
Her play was called A Race To The Finish, about the tortoise and the hare.  She played the part of a bird.  She was soooooo nervous!  She said to me the night before the play "mom, don't worry if I don't get up tomorrow." I asked why wouldn't she wake up. She responded with "my play duh!!!"
The day of the play they performed for the first graders during the day as a dress rehersal and I was there for part of it but had to leave before they finished, to pick Cora up.  She screamed and cried right in the middle of the play!  When I got over to her, she was trembling!  I had to leave and felt horrible. She sucked it up and finished with many teachers supporting her. Poor little thing. That night for the performance to the families, she did amazing!  I'll post a few pics now that I took with my phone but I'll post more when I get the ones off Cora's camera.

Now for the big news!!!! THE BUNNY!!!!!
So after the hamster died we knew we'd be getting something else but didn't know what. Ella began her pleading for a bunny again and of course Cora wants one too and okay yes so do I.  Well Jake actually said yes!!! Gasp!! We were so happy!  I began searching for breeders and found one. The ladies name is Marlo from www.lowmarlionsrabbitry.com .  We are getting a little male Netherland Dwarf.  He is two years old and so cute! My dad, Aaron, and Jake are going to build his hutch this weekend and next weekend we will go get him.  He will be an indoor bunny.  I plan to litter train him.  Yep, it is possible and actually a normal thing.  Here is a picture of him from the webpage more to come I'm sure.  Oh, and his name is Lewis Fluffybum Bartlett!

Wooohooow!!  That was a busy month!  Here are just a few more pics from the month and a few quotes that I just love!
My kind of huggin'!

Kayla and Cora they are such sweet friends! If Cora had Cassie here I know the three of them would be the best little friend trio ever!

Haha! Crazy Cora and sweet Kayla!

Yep, that's me! Without the bulging pecks and arms and more hair!

Toothless girl

I kind of love this!

Sweet Josi girl.

Ella trying to convinces me that she should take the bunny to school. Hahaha!

Well kisses are great too!  I love waking the girls up every morning and kissing their little necks and smelling their little girl smells... it only happens first thing in the morning... they smell like big girls after that. Boo!

Oh, one more thing before I finish.  Ashley Brooks the driver in the accident that killed Kate had her sentencing.  I wasn't going to go but she asked if we could. Jake was working so I went.  I have always been conflicted about this as Ash is our friend too, but she made a really bad choice and killed somebody.  There had to be a price.  Kate's family was there and seemed to be divided about how they felt about Ash's sentence. They spoke about Kate and her life that is lost to us. Some forgave Ash others were so bitter.  In the end Ash got 28 months in prison and 180 days at county.  She is able to apply for parole immediately.  My heart breaks because she too lost a lot.  She can never be a firefighter again and has a felony that will follow her forever because of one bad choice!  She is only 27.  Please friends and family Please...
NEVER ever DRINK and DRIVE!!!

SuperBowl week!

What a week!  So when I was helping Jake get Cora's bike running I hurt my hand.  It isn't broke but has been so painful.  It's finally feeling better.  But it was a tough one-handed week!
We are so thrilled the Broncos are in the Super Bowl!  This week we showed our Bronco pride a lot!

We had some silliness and some sleepy snuggle moments.

Jake finished his time at 1's this week and is now headed to 7's.  He had to do a skit for his Capitan at 1's and while it was a major stress for Jake, we got a song wrote and he did well.  The song lyrics are riddled with cuss words so I won't share them.  The song was based off Uncle Krackers, Heaven.  We put bits in about each guy on the crew.  The Capitan loved it, as did the rest of the crew!

Jake and I went to an awards banquet for CSFD. One of the guys at 1's, Kuenze, got the firefighter of the year award from the local 5.  We got to dress up and be fancy!  Dawn and Josh were there too.

Saturday Ella's friend Jayden came over for a sleepover. These two girls are adorable together!

Now today is SUPER BOWL Sunday!!!  I'm making lots of wonderful things to eat and my dad is coming over! GO BRONCOS!!!!

It's alive!

Super excited Cora's motorcycle is fixed! It took three kicks and it fired right up and ran like a charm.  Its got quite a bit of horse power too.  Cora was so excited to hear her motorcycle start and loved slipping on her helmet and riding it up the hill. Jake relived that its done.  We will probably go riding this week sometime.  I am looking forward to this summer now more then ever.
Cora's bike is running and ready to race!

Praying that Jake gets the part time position that CHFD is opening.  We only need that until August, then I'll be babysitting a baby full time.  Speaking of baby sitting... my good friend Tammy, the mommy to be of said baby, lost her mom on Thursday. :-(    Prayers also for her and her family.

On a happier note my Grandma's birthday is on the 29th, so we went out to Red Lobster to celebrate.  She is a wise and wonderful 83yrs. old.  She was super embarrassed when I had them sing to her.  I love her sweetness so much.
A special birthday bib for granny.

Catch up!

Jeesh, I'm horrible at keeping up with my blog posts!  So since my last post the Broncos went to the playoffs against the Patriots.  Ummm, the Broncos WON!!!!! They are going to the Super Bowl against the Seahawks. Go Broncos!!!

Also new, Cora and her daddy started work on Cora's motorcycle.  Cora took the motor all the way apart and today they began putting it all back together.

Ella got her first school project assignment.  They had to pick a major weather event like tornados, floods, blizzards, etc.  Ella choose to do floods.  She likes very neat, straight lines.  Her handwriting is very near mine!  She had a great time working on this.  One really cool thing is one of the pictures we found is actually a call her daddy was on!

We had a great visit on Monday, MLK day, from Uncle Bryce, Aunt Amy, and Logan. Pictures later.

Now our sad news... Our sweet hamster Smokey Bear went to heaven sometime early this morning.  Ella went to pick him up this morning and found him cold and not breathing.  We knew his time was short because they don't live but 3 years.  I just wish my sweet baby didn't find him.  We placed him in a shoes box filled with pillow bating and wrapped him in a blanket.  He is buried in the back yard and this summer we plan to put a flower garden over him. I am going to let the girls make a garden stone for a memory too.  Smokey was the sweetest hamster I've ever owned.  He was such a snuggler.  We will really, really miss him. :-(

Well that's pretty much everything for now.  Lets see if I can get into a routine and update my posts every other day or so.
